In this Centennial Year of Rotary, three Rotarians in District 5130 truly put Service Above Self. From the day after the Christmas tsunami, when Joe Lindland traveled to Patong Beach on Puket in Thailand and reported back on the devastation, to the trip a short time later taken by Joe Dacanay to Sri Lanka, to the building journey in March to India, coordinated in our district by Tom Allman, our Rotarians were represented by these three in their efforts to assist in the recovery. Each helped to spur our district to contribute money for the efforts as well as contributed many hours of personal labor. For these reasons, I have selected them to be honored as our
Centennial Rotarians of the Year for District 5130.
