Dear Rotarians, March is LITERACY MONTH! Rotary's literacy efforts remind us that we can and do improve the human condition, person by person Club Presidents, this is the month to do something to celebrate Literacy Month. Literacy projects have been and continue to be an area of emphasis for Rotary International. By this time, most clubs have completed their Dictionary Programs. I want to congratulate all the clubs for participating in the "Harvey Freetly Dictionary Program". To see the smiles on the faces of the third graders as they receive these dictionaries is heartwarming. Literacy is a problem globally not only in underdeveloped countries. In order to overcome the cycle of poverty, we must teach everyone the basic reading, mathematics, and writing skills. FOUNDATION GIVING . . . makes you feel good!
