June 2008
DISTRICT CONFERENCE 2008
MISSION POSSIBLE: SHARE THE DREAM

We want to thank all of the Rotarians that attended the District Conference held in San Francisco over the weekend of May 16-18. By all measures it was a huge success! The weather was great, the speakers were wonderful and the attendance was spectacular. The registered participants numbered nearly 350. This did not include the 50 Exchange Students and advisors that took part in the Youth Exchange program on Sunday morning. The weekend provided a time for fellowship and recognition.

A special congratulation goes out to the Rotary Clubs of the Year for 2007-08

Small Rotary Club of the Year Rotary Club of South Ukiah
Medium Rotary Club of the Year Rotary Club of Crescent City
Large Rotary Club of the Year Rotary Club of Sebastopol

Individual recognition went to the following Rotarians:

Quiet Rotarian of the Year Ezbon Jen (Santa Rosa Sunrise)
Rotarian of the Year Chris Brannan (Garberville)
Rotarian of the Year Maureen Merrill (Windsor)
RI Service Above Self Award Dale Knight (Rohnert Park-Cotati)

Congratulations to all the Clubs receiving awards for excellence during the year!

Finally, I would like to remind each Club to review their membership and foundation goals for the year. As a District we are doing extremely well in both areas. Currently we have a plus 72 new members and our per capita average for Foundation giving is over $115. However, with a month to go each Club should continue to improve Foundation giving and work toward adding at least one more member. If that is accomplished, we will have the most successful campaign in recent years. Let's Make That Happen!

Thank you for your many contributions as we move toward the end of a very successful year.

Sincerely, Governor Ken
