A message from District Governor Erna Stevenson

Hello, Rotarians! Welcome to our 2006-07 Rotary Year!
Why am I so excited about Rotary this year?
The 43 clubs in our district remain astonishingly active in their communities and worldwide…in fact, we're doing more projects than ever.
- Children from Crescent City to Napa, from Mendocino to Sonoma Valley, and all up and down the 101 corridor are enjoying colorful dictionaries, playing in Rotary-Funded playgrounds, learning teamwork in sports leagues and at Boys and Girls Clubs….
- In Willits, seniors are gathering for classes, meals and social support thanks to Rotarians there…..
- In Eureka, families of cancer patients enjoy comfortable, close-by residential stays, thanks to Rotarians in that area…..
- And can you believe those healthy Petalumans, strengthening hearts and bonds of friendship through Rotary's program of community walks?
And I haven't even touched on the international impact that you have accomplished. From Nicaragua to Russia, from Mexico to the African Continent, you prove every week that Rotary's last name is truly, "International" here in District 5130.
Only space keeps me from going on, and on, and on with so many of these amazing accomplishments. Yet, it doesn't keep me from taking an enormous pride in our organization, and in you, my friends, who make it happen.
So, naturally, I'm excited. And looking forward very much to visiting you in your clubs this year, to learning from you all about how you make it work, and to being your partner in this dazzling array of Service Above Self.
Sincerely,
DG Erna
