Festival of Brotherhood - 2008
District 5130’s 2008 Festival of Brotherhood team has just returned from the13th annual project fair in central Mexico. We saw lots of outstanding projects and and enjoyed 10 days of fellowship with the Rotarians of District 4150 in Culiacan and Guadalajara.
We have a number of great projects available for clubs in our district. If your club is interested in partnering in one or more of these projects, please contact Dale Knight or other members of the FOB team.
This was the first year for the International Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for the “Mano Amiga” shelter for children and families undergoing cancer treatment, (the original project of the Festival of Brotherhood.) It was an outstanding tournament played on a championship golf course, sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Zapopan Las Fuentes and Southwest Eureka. Dean Charlton of Southwest Eureka represented our district this year.
We were delighted to have a number of Rotarians and family members on their first visit and others returning to enjoy fellowship with festival friends in Mexico. We all had a great time.
Thanks, Ed
