CONGRATULATIONS Jim Flamson Selected for District Governor 2010-2011

Jim Flamson emerges from his car trunk to assume the position of District Governor Nominee Designee for 2010-2011!

Jim Flamson, from the Rotary Club of Calistoga, was recently selected as the District Governor for 2010-11 for District 5130. After graduating from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Jim moved to Calistoga where he has been an insurance broker and tax preparer of the past 33 years. Jim has been actively involved in the community as a volunteer fireman, little league coach and an active Scoutmaster. Jim has received many awards in scouting including his most prized; the Cliff Dochterman Award in 2006 for exemplary Scouting / Rotary service. Jim also received the Gary Barrett Lifetime Achievement Award given to him by the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce.

Jim is an active member of many committees in Calistoga. He is a charter board member of the Napa Sonoma Film and Music Institute. He is also a member of the Calistoga Disaster Committee. He and his wife, Kathy, are avid volunteers for the American Cancer Society and for the

past four years have been active in the Relay For Life in the Calistoga area.

Jim has been in Rotary twice, once for several years as a Calistoga Rotary club member, then returning after a 12-year leave of absence. Jim served as Club President in 1999-2000. He is passionately dedicated to the spirit of Rotary. Jim has been the Calistoga Rotary Club's Youth Chairman for many years. He has served several times as Assistant Governor and is currently the Chief Assistant Governor. Jim and his wife Kathy, have attended the Festival of Brotherhood in Guadalajara twice and love international service. Jim is a Paul Harris Fellow, as well as a benefactor. Jim was honored in 2006-07 by being selected as Rotarian of the Year in District 5130.
